So, while I may be behind by a few days, I wanted to wish you all happy Sysadmin Day if you haven’t already celebrated. Take some time to appreciate your sysadmin for all their hard work. They’re the ones who made sure you can read this post and revel in the wonderful thing that is the internet.
So, to all you sysadmins out there reading this post - happy (late) System Administrator Appreciation Day! Bask in all the glory, because tomorrow it will most likely be gone.
PS. Considering the nature of this post, I just couldn’t help myself including this link…

I recently upgraded this blog to Wordpress 2.5 and I’m loving it so far. The only shame was that WP Tiger Admin by Steve Smith which I had grown so used to and loved wasn’t compatible with WP2.5, so I went looking for other solutions. Then the wonderful Fluency Admin by Dean Robinson came to my rescue. Dean also makes the awesome Redoable theme which this blog makes use of.
Now, onto the second part of this post: my experiences with IPv6. I recently got an IPv6 address through a Sydney broker and have been experimenting with it since. I got my KAME dancing and I’m awaiting an rdns delegation to be able to use vhosts from afraid.org. Anybody else use IPv6?

After more than a month since seeding the version to developers, Apple has released version update 10.5.2 (Leopard) of it’s OSX operating system (anyone else saying Thank God?).
The update appeared in my Macbook’s Software Update this morning at a hefty size of 341mb (other sources said 180mb, what gives?). The issue I was praying that the update would fix, it seems has not been fixed so I feel somewhat shortchanged.
Anybody else had the curse of the (apparently) oversized update?

Am I just about the only one waiting for Apple to release OSX 10.5.2?
Hurry up Apple, thanks.

So I haven’t posted in almost 2 weeks - it seems free time has been hiding from me these past weeks and it’s starting to show (on this blog at least). I’ll be posting some more articles soon so keep your eyes peeled for those. In other news, I recently installed more RAM in my PC (exciting, I know) and it brings it to a grand total of 2gb. Ah, the wonders of having a bunch of RAM at your disposal to have as many applications open as need be. It’s something you need to experience before you die. End rambling.

In regards to my previous post on Alexa, this time I truly believe they’ve gone crazy. Having lost out once more after their latest traffic updates, my rank has increased yet again some 15,000 places even though the last few days my blog has seen the most traffic in quite a while. Go figure.

Out of plain curiosity: I want to know what your desktop looks like.
Here’s my current desktop (view larger):
Here’s a quick rundown on what you’re looking at:
- Wallpaper: High Plains Arcus from SocksOff.co.uk
- An Empty Desktop: Not many people have an empty desktop, but I quite like it. It keeps things uncluttered and organised. I can’t imagine the amount of clutter there would be if I had icons, and frankly, I don’t want to.
- Quick Launch Bar: My 3 essential applications (LTR) Firefox, My ‘bin’ folder [essentially a second desktop, keeps the clutter where you can't see it.] and Foobar2000 for my tunes.
What do you think my desktop, and what does yours look like?

Well, as the title promises there’s been not one, but two momentous occasions here at forgedeuphoria.com in the past few weeks. The first one, which is most likely no so momentous, is that I have passed the 10,000 spam mark! That’s right, the spammers love my blog so much that they’ve tried to sell their generic Viagra on my site over 10,000 times. I simply can’t contain the warm fuzzy feeling inside, knowing that my blog is loved so much.
The second occasion, which is slightly more momentous, is that I have aged yet another year. Yes, I am another 365 days wiser. I’m a bit late in revealing this (my birthday was on September 20) but some super secret projects I’ve been working on have kept me away from blogging. But do not fear - I am back and ever so ready to blog.
Over and out.

So, I’m hoping that Paul O’Flaherty still has VeohTV invites left to give out. I pretty much only have to link to this post: 4 VeohTV invites to give away, and I believe I’m already done. How simple was that? Hopefully simple enough to gain an invite (if he has any left). Why not go read his blog anyway? There’s some great rants and otherwise you can catch up on the news and reviews from the tech world. I know I probably should spend my time doing something more productive then handing out links but I’m in a generous mood this evening so why not just go with the flow?

So I guess the fact I’m writing this post is testament to the post title. I’ll write another post detailing my holiday for those who wish to read it, but for now I’m simply here to let my readers know I’m all safe and sound and all in one piece.
In other news, I’ve just taken delivery of my new Logitech G11 gaming keyboard. Now the challenge is to get used to the position of the keys as the whole keyboard is moved over to the right due to the macro keys (or ‘G’ keys.) [Image]
Cheerio.
