Here’s one of those update posts, yet again. So what’s going on in my world? Well, sans the offline crap I’m here to fill you in on what’s going on in the land of the interweb.
I recently purchased reseller hosting account through ResellerScene for an insanely cheap price (using coupcon code noway in case you’re interested) and transferred over one of my domains (stylecomment.com) to the new host. If you’re really nosy and want to know why - it’s all part of my new plans for expanding my freelancing outfit. Anywho, once the DNS servers had propagated, I tried to view the site on the new host. No good. Apparently my ISPs DNS cache hadn’t updated to the new nameservers; so I flushed my local DNS cache to no avail. It seemed a reboot was in order, so that’s exactly what I did. Still no go on the new domain even after the reboot; it seems something strange was going. So here I am multiple reboots, a bunch of ipconfig /flushdns commands and a couple of winsock reinstalls and IP stack rebuilds later still viewing the site on the old server. What a wonderful experience it is trying to gain potential clients when your site is [temporarily] down.
Edit: The nameservers have finally propagated at ISP level. Hooray for progress.
In other non-rant news, I’ve been linked to by SnapSucks.org. They stand by my opinion that Snap previews, do indeed suck. So get behind the cause and get blogging! Join the movement and be heard. Put bluntly by SnapSucks.org - Snap previews suck mule testicles. ‘Nuff said.
